Don’t feel bad about it - it happens to everyone.
Even if you click Start streaming, it’ll only show you log entries from then on, and nothing from before.
To see earlier logs, Apple recommends creating an entire system diagnostics report and open specific files created by it. What a mess.
Do yourself a favor and use BackLog. I know I am. That’s why I wrote it.
P.S.: The app works better than its icon looks, I promise.
Have you ever had to instruct another human being on how to use Console.app, filter for specific stuff, what to look out for, etc, and then find out that it didn’t produce any results?
I know, it sucks.
Why not just do the heavy lifting for them by specifying the criteria you need, copying the backlog:// link, and sending it to them?
All they need is the app and to open the link, the rest is done for them – and you.
